Job Purpose:
- A visionary leader responsible for driving the company’s strategic growth, who has hands-on experience of project development and execution with a strong commercial orientation. Establishing the vertical for ground mounted solar power project development in the company through business development, project conceptualization, project initiation, liaison with government authorities, securing approvals and permissions, strategy, securing prospective customers, power purchase agreements, contributing to establishing the solar operational structure in company. The incumbent would lead a team of 120 members.
Key Reponsibilities
- Develop and execute the company’s strategic vision and long-term goals in the solar energy market.
- Identify, evaluate, and pursue new business opportunities and acquisitions to expand the company’s solar portfolio.
- Responsible for building (Commercial & Industrial) sector customers for solar power – ground mounted. Developing and executing a long-term strategy and implementation plan for scaling the C&I business, creating a detailed and actionable plan with clearly defined milestones and targets.
- Scouting for new projects, project conceptualization, project initiation, site solicitation, land acquisition etc. Should have technical understanding about the design, procurement, installation and commissioning of solar plants
- Oversee the development, financing, construction, and operation of solar projects. Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet quality standards. Implement best practices in project management and address any project-related challenges.
- Develop and manage the company’s budget, financial plans, and performance metrics, ensure financial targets are met and sustained profitability. Communicate financial and operational performance to the Board of Directors and stakeholders.
- Identifying the need for and leading the development of internal reports, quarterly reviews and internal and external communications as needed.
- Securing permissions and approvals from state nodal agencies for project establishment, from transmission authorities (STU and CTU) for connectivity, etc.
- Understanding the current market dynamics & trends, techno-commercial needs of various customer segments within C&I, and the policy environment to inform the go-to-market strategy.
- Liasoning with clients to understand their requirements and work on deliverables in time bound manner as agreed with client.
- To work with internal & external stakeholders on an assigned project to identify solutions to business problems and streamlines processes

Qualification & Experience
- B.E / B. Tech and Management degree from a reputed institution.
- 18-20 years of experience in Solar C & I project (ground mounted).
- Experience of working as a Business Unit Head for a solar project at a Director or VP level
