Job Purpose:
- The executive would be responsible for driving operational excellence, strategic growth, and organizational success by overseeing day-to-day operations, implementing best practices, and fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement. He would be accountable to contribute to the achievement of the company’s long-term objectives and sustainable growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Operations Management:
- To lead and drive operation function at the plant and focus on capacity utilization as well as provide administrative support for expansion/ debottlenecking project at the site
- Ensure achievement of production targets as per the defined targets and requirements of customers as per desired safety, quality, and cost standards
- Provide solutions for all technical issues faced at the plant and develop & implement strategy for debottlenecking/ troubleshooting to achieve efficient production
- Drive operational excellence through continuous improvement, implementing Lean, Six Sigma, and efficiency-boosting initiatives to minimize waste.
- Steer implementation of new technology & up-gradation of existing equipment’s
- Drive continual improvement in the Environment, Health & Safety culture of the company through various initiatives/implementation of systems and EHS programs
- Ensure compliance with quality standards, regulations, and best practices by implementing robust quality management systems for consistent product reliability.
- Identify opportunities for supply chain integration to enhance efficiency and reduce lead times. Collaborate with partners to optimize inventory, procurement, and logistics for seamless manufacturing operations
- Drive innovation within manufacturing operations to improve productivity, quality, and cost-effectiveness. Evaluate emerging technologies and trends to identify opportunities for process optimization and automation.
- Identify potential risks to manufacturing operations and develop contingency plans to mitigate disruptions and ensure business continuity
- Coordination with Government and statutory authorities like local, state and central agencies
- Ensure ZERO Accident in overall site operations
- Ensure proper coordination between various functions at the unit level for seamless operations
- Monitor, measure, and review performance of reporting divisions against operating plans and standards
People Management and Development:
- Guiding team members to address & resolve performance bottlenecks
- Responsible for career planning, building skills and competencies of key technical manpower
- Develop performance objectives, give periodic feedback, provide recognition for high performance & develop competence at the site
- To ensure the availability of competent manpower for running various operations at the works
- Strengthen and exhibit organization’s culture and values at workplace
- Ensure cohesive working amongst HOD’s of various functions
Qualifications & Experience:
- BE / BSc Tech in Chemical Engineering or Equivalent with minimum 20+ years of experience which includes at least 2+ years of experience in a leadership role of managing complete site operation
- Exposure to Civil engineering and managing logistics/ supply chain would be an added advantage
- Industry: Chemicals – commodity and specialty chemicals, Paints & Adhesives, Agrochemicals, Fertilizer, Petrochemicals
- Successful track record of cost / productivity / yield optimization
