Job Purpose:

  • The individual in this position will play a key role in the management team, working closely with the Country Head to drive continuous process improvements, introduce next-level technology, increase production profitability, enhance operational efficiency, and improve quality and key metrics on the shop floor. They will lead strategic change by engaging business and operations leaders, as well as all team members, to embed operational excellence as a core business practice.

  • Manufacturing Expertise: Manage Manufacturing Excellence footprint across six locations, ensuring strategic planning, coordination, communication, and overseeing key operational aspects.
  • Standardization: Drive a standard manufacturing excellence model across the organization to develop best-in-class operations. Establish standardized processes, procedures, and best practices across all plants.
  • Project Management: Plan and drive strategic and Capex projects across the group.
  • Process Simplification: Simplify processes and value stream mapping, horizontal deployment of knowledge, and implementation of TPM/TQM/Lean practices.
  • Technology Integration: Utilize technology solutions to integrate data and streamline operations across different plants.
  • Site Visits: Conduct periodic site visits to assess operations, identify bottlenecks, and address challenges or opportunities.
  • Collaboration: Foster a culture of collaboration and knowledge sharing among plant managers and teams.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • BE/B Tech/ME/M. Tech in Industrial Engineering / Mechanical Engineering
  • In-depth knowledge of process improvement methodologies such as Lean Six Sigma, Kaizen, or Total Quality Management.
  • Solid track record of having handled multiple plants across regions of relevant size and complexity.
  • The preference is for the person to have worked in Discrete Manufacturing – Off-Highway, Construction Equipment Manufacturer, Automobile Industry or Tier 1 suppliers to them
  • Must have shop floor experience or knowledge of at least 60-70% of key processes including Forging, Machining, Welding, Heat Treatment, Surface Finishing etc.
  • Proven experience in business process improvement, quality management, or related fields. Should have exposure to Industrial Engineering/ Process engineering as well as some production experience.
  • Should have penchant for process improvement. An innovative, loyal & result-orientated professional with strong planning, communication, interpersonal & negotiation skills; proven ability to surpass targets within given deadlines, regardless of pressure.
  • Should have exhibited excellence in cementing healthy relationships among cross functional teams, thereby ensuring that the manufacturing processes are future proof and future ready.
  • Should have a strong strategic mindset with excellent application abilities
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to collect, analyze, and interpret data to drive decision-making.
  • Proven ability to drive change and foster a culture of continuous improvement within an organization.
  • Good networking skills – within and outside the company to identify the industry best practices which can be implemented
  • Ability to lead, mentor and guide team members. Genuinely interested in capability development of the team.
