Job Purpose

  • In this senior-level product management position, you will act in a lead role, responsible for overseeing the strategic direction and overall success of the medical imaging device portfolio. You will guide cross-functional teams through all phases of product development, from initial concept to market launch, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and business objectives. Additionally, you will serve as a key liaison between internal departments, external stakeholders, and market experts, driving innovation and addressing customer needs to maintain a competitive edge.

Team

  • Work with Software Engineers, Software Architects, System Engineers, Project Managers, Product Managers, Quality Managers, Regulatory Affairs Managers, 3rd Party Vendors, Software Supervisor and/or Software Manager, Service and Production Personnel with low level of supervision.The Product Manager will be required to work closely with both internal and external customers, including employees in Europe and the US. It is each employee’s obligation to consistently treat visitors, external customers and all co-workers with courtesy and respect.

Key Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for the medical imaging device portfolio for the Indian market over the entire product life cycle
  • Develop and execute visionary product strategies for local products in the field of medical imaging devices, aligned with company goals and market needs
  • Conduct market research to identify customer needs, market trends, and competitive landscape
  • Define and manage the product roadmap, ensuring alignment with business objectives and market demands
  • Work closely with engineering, design, regulatory, quality, and marketing teams to ensure successful product development and launch
  • Ensure products comply with all relevant regulatory standards and guidelines (e.g., FDA, CE Mark)
  • Communicate product vision, strategy, and updates to stakeholders, including executives, team members, and customers
  • Gather and prioritize product requirements based on customer feedback, market research, and business goals
  • Oversee the product development process, ensuring milestones are met and product quality is maintained
  • Represent the user as product manager in product development projects and ensure that the range of innovative products meets customer requirements
  • Translate customer requirements into product functions
  • Create and maintain associated documentation
  • Actively manage the product portfolio across the entire product life cycle, including through sales and competitive analysis
  • Act as an interface between internal stakeholders and the market together with sales and marketing
  • Support the expansion of the market presence of the product portfolio for which you are responsible
  • Plan and execute product launches, including coordinating with marketing and sales teams to ensure successful market entry
  • Support the successful market launch of new products in cooperation with Marketing, taking into account the guidelines and regulations defined as binding by Regulatory Affairs
  • Forge strong relationships across departments and with other companies
  • Lead by example and insist on the highest quality in own work and that of others
  • Require little or no supervision from Manager or Project Manager
  • Monitor product performance and customer feedback post-launch to identify areas for improvement and drive continuous product enhancement
  • Manage product budgets, including cost estimation, financial planning, and monitoring expenses
  • Identify potential risks in product development and launch, and develop mitigation strategies
  • Provide training and support to sales, marketing, and customer support teams to ensure they are well-equipped to promote and support the product
  • Maintain comprehensive product documentation, including specifications, requirements, and user manuals

Key Skills & Attributes

  • Medical product development experience desired.
  • Experience in the field of medical product management.
  • Ability to analyze market trends, user feedback, and clinical data to make informed decisions
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for clear and effective interaction with team members, stakeholders, and customers
  • Ability to identify problems quickly and develop effective solutions
  • Understanding of the medical device industry, including market dynamics, competitive landscape, and emerging technologies
  • Comprehensive knowledge of regulatory standards and guidelines governing medical devices
  • Familiarity with the entire product development lifecycle, from concept through to post-market surveillance
  • Knowledge of quality assurance processes and standards (e.g., ISO 13485)
  • Understanding of clinical research methodologies and their application in product development
  • Self-motivated; works with minimal supervision.
  • Enthusiastic about the company and about developing its high-quality medical products.
  • Recognizes problems and offers solutions. Helps the group adapt to changing conditions.

Qualification & Experience

  • BS/MS in a technical or scientific field with 8-12 years of experience in product management, preferably in medical devices or healthcare
  • Experience with western culture.
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • English business fluent.
  • Must have good organizational skills and time management skills.
  • Must be willing to work together with remote teams in Europe and US.
  • Must be flexible in terms of working hours to be able to react to time zone differences of the distributed development teams.
  • Should be willing to potentially move workplace nationally / locally.
  • Knowledge of MS Office.
  • Project Management Certification is a plus.
